DEVON GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE PERIOD APRIL 1, 2025 TO MARCH 31, 2026
2025 marked the 31 st anniversary since the creation of the Foundation. We have been so fortunate to have many from the community who sponsored and donated to the Foundation as well a serve as volunteers and Board members over three decades. Thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers who continue to support the Foundation, we have been able to continue with and add to the many programs and services we provide.
Here is a synopsis of the past year.
It has been just over a year since we reopened The Gift Shop in the late fall of 2024 and the community feedback has been overly positive. It has been a tremendous success thanks to our passionate team of volunteers.
Our long-term care residents are a very important part of the Foundation’s initiatives. Each year we support the programs and events that give the residents joy and activity. Some of those activities include arts and crafts, bingo, musical entertainers and baking.
We added an extension to the gazebo in the courtyard for our long-term residents and visitors to enjoy the courtyard in the shade during the heat of the summer.
The Foundation repaired the outside stairs to the lower parking lot. Then we added a canopy to the stairwell that will prevent snow and ice from accumulating on the stairs making it safer for staff and visitors to use.
We expanded the hospital doorway into the courtyard to allow residents in Broda chairs to exit their residence and enjoy the courtyard.
The Foundation purchased a Devo Plate for the Diagnostic Imaging department and an ultrasound for emergency.
We held our 19 th annual Taste event that attracted more than 250 from the community – far and near. This event has been a staple in our fundraising initiative and is something that the attendees look forward to each year.
At the same time as the Taste was held, we were asked by Tim Hortons’ to sponsor the Smile Cookie Campaign. Surprisingly, it was a lot of fun and paid off in a big way for the Foundation
We support Nurses’ Week each year with a donation for all employees to enjoy.
The Foundation has been working on a new website and a donor database that is now up and running.
There are current media and marketing initiatives that populate our FB page and Instagram with ongoing updates. This year for the first time, we implemented two Continuing Education grants in the amount of $2,500 each for each fiscal year. We had three applicants.
The Foundation administers an annual Bursary Program which awards up to five payments of $3,000 each. This year we had 11 applicants. There is a Legacy Wall on the right as you enter the hospital where generous donors are recognized for their contribution to the Foundation. This year seven individuals or companies were added to this prestigious list.
The Memory Tree provides a place to recognize a loved one with their name on a star on the Christmas Tree that is set up each festive season. On December 3, 2025, we held our second Mixer to recognize and thank our donors and volunteers. Approximately 100 people attended to hear about the Foundation’s many accomplishments thanks in the most part to the donors and volunteers who keep this Foundation in good standing. The Foundation held its Annual General Meeting on Friday, December 3, 2025. The Foundation is an active working Board and include
