About our Foundation
The Devon General Hospital Foundation is committed to the promotion and enhancement of health care programs and services offered within the community. To generate financial and other support required to achieve this goal, the Foundation assists the Hospital in creating a closer and more effective partnership within the community. As a registered charitable organization since 1994, the Foundation provides an avenue to make financial and other contributions to the Hospital.As the official fund raising arm of the Devon General Hospital, the Foundation assists in the establishment and coordination of all health related programs and activities. Gifts are used to enhance care through equipment purchases, capital projects, or by assisting in health-related education. Gifts are not used to cover normal operating costs of the Hospital.
Projects successfully undertaken in past years include a major donation to locate an ambulance in Devon, the construction of a beautiful outdoor courtyard, the purchase of equipment for the Home Care nurses; the purchase of defibrillators for the community – and on and on and on.
The Foundation undertakes to raise funds through annual campaigns, major capital and endowment campaigns, memorial trusts, corporate contributions, special events, bequests, gifts-in-kind, planned gifts, sponsorships and grant applications. Gifts are used in accordance with the donor’s requests wherever possible.
